Oprek or utak atik Wins with Reshack

Reshack atau resource hacker adalah program yang freeware yang memang bertujuan untuk meng-hack resource pada sebuah file executable yang berjalan di dalam windows. Program tersebut merupakan buatan Angus Johnson.

Kegunaan dari progran ini adalah :

Melihat resource Win32 executable files (*.exe, *.dll, *.cpl, *.ocx) dan win32 resource files (*.res) dalam format compiled ataupun decompiled.
Menyimpan resource dalam format (*.res) sebagai sebuah binary, decompiled resource scripts ataupun images. Icon, bitmaps, cursors, menus, dialogs, DLL. Resouce ini dapat disimpan dengan formatnya sendiri.

Memodifikasi resources yang berbentuk executables ataupun resource files. Image resources(icons, bitmaps, cursors) dapat diganti dengan image lain yang memakai format *.ico, *.cur, *,.bmp, ataupun *.exe.
Menghapus resources. Banyak compiler membuat resource di dalam aplikasi yang sebenarnya tidak terpakai oleh aplikasi tersebut. Reshack dapat digunakan untuk menghapus resource yang tidak terpakai tersebut sehingga bisa memperkecil ukuran aplikasi.

Pada dasarnya resource hacker ini tidak perlu di instal. Anda hanya tinggal meng-ekstrak program tersebut. Reshack juga tidak membuat entries dalam windows registry. Untuk menghapus program ini anda hanya perlu menghapus folder program ini.

Resource hack ini juga mempunyai kelemahan,yaitu:

#Reshack tidak bisa membaca resource yang formatnya masih 16-bit executable

#Reshack di-compile menggunakan Delphi™ v.3.20 jadi, jika anda ingin men-decompile atau me-recompile dengan menggunakan delphi versi baru, mungkin akan terjadi error

#Jika diggunakan untuk memodifikasi aplikasi yang telah dikecilkan dengan exe compres,reshack akan kesulitan membaca resource tersebut, akibatnya reshack tidak dapat menampilkan resource types dan names.
